Joe Willoughby
Joe was born on 9th October 2004. He started Karting in March 2011 in a Bambino Kart for ages upto eight years old. Joe loves Motorsport in general which is no suprise as he seems to be taking after his dad who used to participate in MotorX. Joe is really enjoying his karting at the moment and has made lots of new friends.
Joe's local track is Hooton Park Circuit where Bob and the team have made Joe very welcome and have seen him from when he first got into his kart to where he is today. In 2011 Joe became Bambino Champion at Hooton . At the start of 2012 Joe moved up to the Cadet class a year early as he felt the Bambino class was too slow and he wanted a bigger challenge. When he turned 8 in the October Joe made the decision to leave the Non MSA Indie Kart racing at Hooton even though he was lying 2nd in the championship and compete in the MSA events at various tracks. He now drives a Zip Cadet Kart with a Iame engine and from the start Joe has been at full Cadet weight where kart and driver have to be over 103kg. He has certainly made a promising start and shows great enthusiasm winning 4 novice trophies at different tracks all over the country and getting his first class MSA win. Joe won the first ever MSA Iame Cadet Race at Hooton in Feb 2013.
We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Scott and Jake Walker at SAS Motorsport who have been amazing with Joe. The karting knowledge Scott has is out of this world with Joe's dad also learning an awful lot through the team with the set up of the kart. Thanks again SAS Motorsport for making Joe's transition into MSA racing a great result and for welcoming Joe into a fantastic team.
Some of Joe's favorite tracks are PF International, Hooton, Whilton Mill, GYG and Rowrah .
His kart number is normally 69 but sometimes he runs number 68
